At the British Council, you are not learning English on your own. All our courses are taught by highly qualified, experienced teachers who are best placed to give constructive, individualised feedback and monitor your progress through regular in-class evaluated tasks. Meet some of our myClass teachers:

Nicholas Sarabin

Nicholas is from Edmonton, Canada, but his grandparents were Ukrainian. He first travelled to Ukraine in 2017 where he worked in villages around Kyiv as a volunteer. There he found a love for teaching English as well as Ukraine. He returned in 2018 to complete Cambridge CELTA with the British Council and joined their team of teachers soon after.

Nicholas has taught in Ukraine, Switzerland and Canada and is excited to teach and live in Kyiv.

Oleksandra Kashtalian

Oleksandra is originally from Kyiv. She has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Management (BiM/MiM Hons) from Kyiv National University of Technology and Design. Her teaching career started in 2009 with adult groups and has developed since then. Oleksandra took the CELTA course and joined the British Council in 2014.

Olena Nesterenko

Olenagraduated from the Dnipropetrovsk National University with two majors in psychology and TEFL. She worked in the university as a teacher of English for several years.  Olena holds an IH TEFL, an IH Certificate in Business English, an IHCYLT, an IH Certificate in Advanced Methodology.Prior to joining the British Council Ukraine in 2012, Olena worked for International House Dnipro and Kyiv. Olena is keen on making her lessons as communicative as possible.

Olga Fionik

Olga is from Kyiv and got her Bachelor’s and her Specialist’s degrees in Translation and Teaching English and German from the National Technical University of Ukraine “KPI”, Faculty of Linguistics. She has a 15-year experience in translation and interpretation related to business and printing industry. She got her CELTA in 2017 with British Council Kyiv, and her IH CYLT with International House in 2018. Olga joined the British Council teaching team in May 2017.

Olga Shynkarenko

Olga graduated from National Dragomanov Pedagogical University in 2007. In 2009-2011 she lived and worked as an AuPair in the USA. While living there she passed TOEFL test, attended ESL and American Culture courses at both Hunter College (New York University) and Long Island University of New York. In 2011 she started working as a teacher of English with children (3-16). In 2012 Olga passed FCE exam and in 2015 — IELTS. She got her CELTA certificate in June 2014 and started teaching adults also

Rhonda Pritchard

Rhonda is from Wales and has a degree in Modern Languages (Russian, French and Spanish). Her teaching qualifications include a Trinity TESOL certificate, the DELTA and the CELTYL. She has taught in Russia, Portugal and Lithuania and started working for the British Council in Kyiv in 2003.

Sevinch Ismailova

Sevinch is from Kharkov and has a degree in English and Turkish languages. Her teaching qualifications include CELTA, CAE, IELTS, TEFL, IHCTYL Kharkiv, IHCTL Kharkiv and TOEFL IBT. She has been working as a teacher since 2002. Before coming to the British Council, Sevinch worked for D’elite School, Yappi Corporate and other language schools in Ukraine.

Viktoriia Voronko

Viktoriia is from Ukraine and has a BA (hons) in Applied Linguistics from the Ukrainian Institute of Linguistics and Management and an MA (hons) in History of International Relations from the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University. She completed her CELTA in 2009 and her DELTA in 2013. Viktoriia started her teaching career in 1998 and has been working at the British Council Kyiv since July 2014. She is also a Cambridge examiner.

Yana Serdiuk

Yana is from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. She got an MA with honours in Languages from Zaporizhzhia National University in 2010. She worked as an English teacher at a language centre in Zaporizhzhia teaching general and business English as well as exam preparation courses. She also organized educational trips to English-speaking countries. She completed her CELTA in July 2014 and joined the British Council Kyiv in August 2014. 

Zahraa Mohamed

Zahraa is from one of the sunniest places in the world, Egypt. She has taught English for almost 10 years. Right after finishing Camridge CELTA in 2015, she joined the British Council in Egypt. Zahraa is keen on her professional development as a teacher; she holds a BA in teaching English, Cambridge CELTA, Trinity TYLEC (teaching English for young learners) and Cambridge DELTA (module 1). Zahra is also a newly certified IELTS examiner.
