The British Council in Ukraine in partnership with the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of the Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Advance HE (UK) and with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Ukraine and National Agency for in Higher Education  Quality Assurance is pleased to announce a call for applications to take part in Ukraine Higher Education Teaching Excellence Programme

Aim of the Programme is to foster quality of higher education of Ukraine through developing institutional capacity in teaching and learning excellence.

The Programme seeks to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Launch of a national platform for professional discussion and exchange of best practices on developing teaching excellence in higher education.
  • Cohort of teachers and university management ready to embed changes and share best practices in developing teaching and learning excellence with colleagues within their institutions and beyond.
  • Support the implementation of institutional projects in teaching and learning.

Participant profile

We invite university teams to participate in the programme (three teachers and one representative of the university management).

Participant requirements - teachers

  • At least five years’ experience of teaching in higher education;
  • Knowledge of English at B2 level and higher;
  • Active use of modern approaches and technologies in teaching;
  • Commitment to attend all programme modules and participate in the online interaction within the programme;
  • Willingness to apply new knowledge and skills in their own teaching practice;
  • Willingness to share experience with other programme participants and and to train colleagues by leading workshops within their own institutions and beyond.

Participant requirements – university management

  • Professional development of teachers is part of their job responsibilities;
  • At least five years’ experience of teaching in higher education;
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working in the management position at the university;
  • Commitment to attend all relevant ptogramme modules;
  • Commitment to build a team within the university to develop and implement an institutional project, ensure management of the institutional project and timely reporting of the results;
  • Willingness to share best practices in implementation of institutional projects in developing teaching and learning excellence.

  2. Letter of support from the university rector, specifying:
  • institutional project name;
  • list of team members;
  • institutional commitment to support participation of the team and implementation of the project in developing teaching and learning excellence.

Please note that only one application from a university will be considered.

Completed application form, official letter of support from the university’s rector and other supporting documents must be sent by 26 January 2020 to email: Please indicate the programme name “Teaching Excellence Programme” and university name in the subject line of the letter.

All applicants will be informed about the results of the selection process on 2 March 2020
