Covid-19

Updated on 7 July.

The British Council’s priority is the health and well-being of our customers, staff, and the communities where we work.

We have adapted our face-to-face activities partially and are ensuring our hygiene measures are in line with government guidance.

Our teaching and exams activities, along with our cultural work, will be affected as follows:

ENGLISH CLASSES

As of Saturday, July 11, we have partially resumed teaching myClass face-to-face with some extra measures to ensure your safety and in accordance with government requirements. Find out more about our safety measures.

Currently, we teach a limited number of myClass classes on our premises. Our online myClass mode of delivery continues with the same number of classes available.

As an alternative to face-to-face lessons, we are making our other courses available online in the form of teacher-led virtual classes where you can study with your classmates in real time.

All our young learners are now able to join Summer intensive courses that are delivered via virtual clasrooms on our English Online platform. Our adult myFoundation students are continuing their studies in virtual classes on Zoom.

Our IELTS preparation courses are also taking place in virtual classrooms. You can receive a virtual consultation and join our virtual classes in either of the two courses that are due to start on 7 and 11 July 2020.

For our Young Learners and MyFoundation adult students, we plan to recommence delivering face-to-face English lessons in full capacity as soon as the quarantine measures are lifted.

EXAMS

We are currently resuming IELTS testing. More information about compute delivered IELTS can be found here. Find out more about our safety measures.

New tests dates have been added in June and July. Please check schedule to find the most suitable date.

This process will be in full compliance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers on Covid-19 anti-epidemic measures.

You may continue preparing for your IELTS test with our free resources from the British Council. We have put together free online resources, and we also invite you to take part in our free series of webinars. OUR WORK IN ARTS, EDUCATION AND SOCIETY

We have had to postpone or cancel all of our programme activities for the duration of the quarantine. We are developing a number of online formats so that we can continue some of our programme activities online.

While staying at home, you can explore the arts online. Just tap into our online arts resources we have gathered here.

If you would like to receive updates on our work in teaching, exams and across our programme areas, please sign up for our newsletter and follow us on our social media platforms Facebook and Instagram.
