Taking the Stage 2.0 is an international residency programme designed to foster dynamic, practical cultural exchange between Ukrainian and British theatre professionals.

Ask any theatre maker what they need most to bring their creation to life and, regardless of discipline, the answer will be the same: time, space and support. So the British Council in Ukraine has teamed up with the Gogolfest, the country’s most dynamic festival platform, to provide exactly that – time, space and support – to five emerging and mid-career theatre-makers from the UK.

Between May and October 2020, the five successful applicants will have the opportunity to work for five weeks in one of five host theatres drawn from Ukraine’s state-funded and independent sectors: National Academic Drama Theatre – Ivano-FrankivskNeft Theatre & Parade-Fest – KharkivTheatre on the Left Bank - KyivWild Theatre - Kyiv,  Dakh Centre for Contemporary Art - Kyiv.
