The British Council’s ACTIVE CITIZENS PROJECT aims at intercultural dialogue and sustainable social development. 

The British Council is announcing an open-call for new partners for Active Citizens 2019/2020 cycle! Civil society organisations, youth initiatives, state universities etc. are welcomed to participate!

The programme will provide workshops for partner’s facilitators (they deliver the Active Citizens training programme to local communities around the country), participation in national and international workshops for the best facilitators, national and international study visits for Active Citizens.

Applications are accepted on a regular base. We are waiting for applications from all regions of Ukraine.

Applications evaluation process covers next terms:

  • the last receiving date – 30 April 2019, 23:59.

Potential partners have to provide at least two facilitators that will be trained on 03 - 08 Juny at National Facilitator Development workshop by the British Council with Active Citizens methodology. In the future partners should support their facilitators during Active Citizens local trainings.

As a result of training in local communities should be realized Social Action Projects aimed to improve life within community. These projects should be coordinated and supported by a local partner.

Some of the Social Actions Projects will be granted partially by the British Council. The projects key areas are facilitation of intercultural dialogue within whole Ukraine, building relations among people based on equal opportunities, respect for diversity, community development and social activism.

  • Eligibility criteria

    To be eligible to apply to be a Partner in the Active Citizens Ukraine Programme Cycle 2019-20, organisations must fulfil these criteria:

    • Be Ukraine based and work with a community in Ukraine; applications from individuals will not be accepted

    •Have no conflict of interest relating to their involvement as a grantee

    •Be able to guarantee the commitment of a Project Co-ordinator and two facilitators

    •Be able to contribute the necessary staff time and additional costs to ensure effective delivery of the project, including monitoring, evaluation and reporting commitments

    •Accept the requirements in relation to intellectual property rights and other British Council’s policies defined in a partnership agreement attached below.
