The Selector is a weekly two-hour radio show sponsored by the British Council and broadcasting regularly since its launch in 2001. With an international audience of more than 4 million listeners in over 40 countries, the show has been an excellent advocate for new British music worldwide.

The show favours emerging UK talent over mainstream music, featuring genres like indie, dubstep, folk, soul, hip hop and live artist interviews and performances. In Ukraine, the British Council sponsors the show working with partners at online radio Aristocrats.fm where the London-based show runs every Tuesday at 1 p.m. and replays every Saturday at 8 p.m. Replays of each week’s show can be tuned in at hromadskeradio.org every Tuesday at 11 p.m. and every Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Selector in Ukrainian is hosted by Valeriya Chachibaya.

Respected worldwide for its ear for new music, the Selector has a shelf-full of industry awards for best international show and specialist music programme.
