We are looking for a reliable and proactive Teacher Assistant (hourly paid) to join our team in Kyiv. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and supporting educational activities in a multicultural, dynamic environment. The Teacher Assistant will play a vital role in helping to manage the day-to-day operation of Young Learner classes and related administrative processes at both the British Council’s main Teaching Centre and at our partner school location.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during breaks and in corridors to maintain safety and order
- Assist with gathering and organising students before and after classes
- Ensure students are safely returned to parents or authorised guardians
- Escort students to shelters during air raids and ensure their well-being
- Promote and uphold the British Council’s positive behaviour policy
- Provide administrative support such as updating student lists and navigating the Student Management System
- Act as liaison with partner school representatives to coordinate on-site processes
- Offer basic information about British Council products and courses to parents and customers
- Support customer engagement both in person and online
- Contribute to maintaining health and safety measures under wartime conditions
Required qualifications and skills
- Upper-intermediate level of English (B2 or above)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is an advantage
- Confident computer user; experience with CRM or student systems is a plus
- Ability to stay calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations
- Flexible availability, especially on Saturdays and potentially some weekdays
