This summer we are traditionally running our summer online courses for kids and teens.

Despite all the complications and challenges caused by the ongoing war, we know that learning English is as important as ever. We are increasing our offer and bringing to life various English learning opportunities this summer to support our young learners in actively shaping their English language skills and keeping the level for a strong start in the upcoming Academic Year.

We have three distinct offers available:

  • Summer Speaking courses for Primary and Secondary
  • Summer Academic courses for Primary and Secondary
  • Summer International courses for Secondary (only)

Summer Speaking courses (6-17 y.o.) focus on speaking the language, while briefly brushing up grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading skills. Various activities planned for the course such as storytelling, group projects, discussions, giving presentations, debating, doing a survey, negotiating give students the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice. Lessons are designed around fun stories, games and creative activities that will inspire your child, improve their language, and build their confidence.

Summer Academic courses (6-17 y.o.) have an academic focus and provide a balanced, natural, and enjoyable development of all skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) and language systems (grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation). Courses also incorporate key 21st-century skills such as creativity, collaboration, and digital literacy. For Upper Secondary students (14-17 y.o.), we also offer IELTS preparation courses.

Summer International (11-17 y.o.) is a programme in which secondary students can enjoy a totally immersive international experience. Classes take place with British Council classmates from other countries in Europe. This programme will allow your child to develop language in an international classroom and acquire all the confidence for an international academic future.

All our courses will be delivered online

What students will learn

Summer Academic for Primary (6-10 y.o.)

These courses are designed for children who still need support to be able to read and write confidently and focus also on developing their speaking and listening skills. The course gives learners a confident start to learning English and, in addition, enhances the learners’ cognitive development. Learners develop their English through songs, rhymes, games, and many more fun activities. This dynamic and involving course develops the whole child and supports them in reaching their full potential. Motivating activities and project work give them tangible evidence of their accomplishments and the focus on conversational practice provides learners with the tools they need to use English in and outside of school.

Summer Academic for Lower Secondary (11-13 y.o.)

These courses give younger teenage learners a truly rewarding learning experience, improve their understanding of the language, and develop skills in interacting in English. Our lesson approach promotes communication and develops critical 21st Century Skills, providing real contexts to practise everyday language and share ideas about the teens’ goals, dreams, and global issues.

Summer Academic for Upper Secondary (14-17 y.o.)

These courses develop teenage learners’ all-round English ability. The course programme presents learners with a variety of options for language practice and allows them to become active participants in the learning process. It goes beyond building strong language skills to developing the whole learner with an emphasis on critical thinking, positive values, and healthy self-esteem.

Summer International for Secondary (11-17 y.o.)

These courses encourage teenagers to improve their ability to communicate in English in an international environment as well as develop the core 21st-century skills they need to use confidently, such as collaboration and critical thinking. Students will develop a wide range of resources to speak in English through participating in a series of interactive tasks such as role-plays, debates, plays, and presentations. These courses also offer enjoyable and alluring optional extras to allow students to engage and have fun in English via solving quizzes and escape rooms.

Summer Speaking for Primary students (6-10 y.o.)

Happy learners make confident speakers! Your child will have lots of time to practise speaking English, having fun learning with classmates of the same age in groups and pairs. The courses are designed specifically for different age groups to ensure kids can progress to reach fluency. Learners will use English in class through fun activities and learn by listening to songs, reading stories, playing games, storytelling and working on class projects with a focus on real-world topics like the natural world and the environment. Our teachers will ensure students will have a great time learning English.

Summer Speaking for Lower Secondary students (11-13 y.o.)

As the lessons of the courses are activity-oriented, students will have lots of time to speak English, develop their communication skills by working on projects in pairs and small teams, build up to a final project at the end of the module that has a real-life outcome, such as a presentation or blog. Varied social and learning forms such as partner work, role-playing or taking part in discussions create a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom. Above all, the course will give them the chance to use the English that they’ve been studying so hard to learn.

Summer Speaking for Upper Secondary students (14-17 y.o.)

These courses focus on speaking the language. The focus on conversation keeps students motivated and actively involved, increases their opportunities for practising the new language and help improve their critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills and greater mental flexibility. These courses combine groupwork on projects with individual activities which will help integrate the language learned in the course.
