British Council Ukraine together with its partners - public organization ‘Theatre Platform’ and Kyiv Academic Molody Theatre holds the second stage of theatre lighting design workshop run by the UK designer Michael Mannion.
The four-day training programme is part of the Behind the Scenes project and will bring together more than ten professionals from theatres across Ukraine. Participants represent Kyiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhya, Lviv, Kharkiv, Chernigiv and Crimea. Last spring they already got insight into general practices for lighting design in the UK. The second module will be focused on practice and cooperation with actors and directors.
Michael Mannion is a partner in the lighting consultancy Eye for Detail. With 20 years of experience, he has worked with theatre directors, choreographers and film-makers throughout Britain, Europe and South Africa. His work spanned designs for touring companies, huge site-specific works and small installations. He created designs for Birmingham Royal Ballet, Ashley Page, Theatre Rites, Mimbre, Stumble Dance Circus, CandoCo, Carol Brown, etc.
