The British Council and Arthouse Traffic present the New British Film Festival, taking place from November 13th to December 15th 2013 in Kyiv, Odessa, Lviv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Ternopil, Poltava, Vinnytsia and Zaporizhia. Every November the New British Film Festival presents recent film releases from the UK (as a feature, documentary, animation and shorts film selection). This year we present 4 films in the main program: "The look of love", "Hyde park on Hudson", "Quartet" and "Sightseers".

We will also have several special projects within the framework of the New British Film Festival-2013. For example, BAFTA short films: a great selection for all fans of short films, presenting various genres and topics, nominated for British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award. In Kyiv only we will have a pre-premiere screening of biographical melodrama Diana, directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and starring Naomi Watts, Naveen Andrews, Douglas Hodge and Juliet Stevenson. Spectators in Kyiv and Odessa will get a chance to watch famous Royal National Theatre project - film version of Danny Boyle's Frankenstein with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller.
Another special event at the festival – The Selfish Giant directed by Clio Barnard. The film has won the Europa Cinemas Label for the best European film unspooling during the Cannes Film Festival. Special screenings, dedicated to Universal Children's Day, will be held in Kyiv, Odessa, Donetsk in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Since 2000, the British Film Festival in Ukraine has hosted both well-established and well-known guests like Sir Richard Eyre, as well as young aspiring filmmakers doing their first steps into the industry, including Nick Whitfield, whose first feature Skeletons won Best British Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2012.
