Alan Savlokhov

Alan comes from Dnipro, but he moved to Kyiv in 2018. He has been teaching English since 2015. Alan used to study Business Administration at Saimaa University of Applied Sciences, Finland. He took IETLS in November 2015 and then completed his CELTA in September 2018. Alan enjoys creating a positive atmosphere in his lessons. He adores engaging students and keeping them motivated with varied, lively approaches.

Alyona Glushkova

Alyona is from Kyiv. She graduated from Kyiv State Linguistic University as a teacher of English. She has a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). She started her teaching career in 1988. She worked in secondary school #182, gymnasia 136 and Montessori School in Kyiv. She has worked as a teacher-trainer for Pearson Publishing House since 2000. In her free time she loves reading, cycling, singing and playing tennis.

Alyona Skalka

Alyona Skalka comes from Khmelnytskiy region. Alyona attended Shevchenko University where she got her bachelor degree in translation. In 2008 she went to Great Yarmouth, England to take part in the exchange programme. A year from April 2016 to April 2017 she spent in the Netherlands, where she worked as an au pair. Alyona took care of two boys and a baby girl. She remembers it as one of the most wonderful years in her life. Alyona likes travelling, drawing, cycling, socializing and Pilates.

Anastasiia Glushkova

Anastasiia is from Kyiv and has a Bachelor degree of Glier Music School as a choir conductor. She got her Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) in ILC and Trinity / British Council Teaching Young Learner Extension Certifi­cate Course at the British Council Kyiv (TYLEC). She started her teaching career as a private English Language tutor. Also she worked as a classroom assistant in Brit­ish Council two years before becoming an English Teacher in British Council.

Andrew Weston

Andrew is from England, where he worked several years as a teacher in state schools.  He has a BA Hons. in History, PGCE, TESOL Cert, and an MSc from Oxford University.  He has taught ESL in the UK, Russia and spent 2 years teaching English at UCUniversity in Lviv.  Andrew joined the British Council Kyiv in 2017.  He particularly enjoys teaching General English to all ages.

Anna Fomenko


Anna graduated from Oles Honchar National University in Dnipro and Kyiv Institute for Translators and Interpreters. She took her CELTA course at the British Council and started working there. Before she worked as a teacher at O. Honchar National University in Dnipropetrovsk; taught English at the Ukrainian-American Language Centre of National Mining University. Anna enjoys teaching English very much, she is really happy that her hobby has become her profession.



Daniel Puzzo

Daniel comes from England, Northern Ireland and the United States. He studied history at Tufts University in the US, and has an MSc in International Relations from Edinburgh University. He has been working as a teacher since 2005, and before coming to the British Council, he taught in the Czech Republic, Spain, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, the US, as well as at various summer schools in the UK. He’s got a PGCE in Secondary History & Social Studies.

Elizabeth Kourkov

Elizabeth is from England. She has a BA honours in Russian and Soviet Studies and has a TESOL, a CELTYL and also a Trinity Diploma in English Language Teaching. Liz started teaching at the British Council in Kyiv when it first opened in 1992 when she first conducted teacher training and then trainer training. Currently, she is teaching pre-school children. Liz is interested in teaching very young children as well as Business English and Exams.

Fredrik Henriksson

Fredrik was born in Malmo, Sweden. He left Sweden for Scotland to study History at the University of Aberdeen and it was during the summer breaks while at university that he discovered that he enjoyed teaching English.After university he returned to Sweden, before going to England and gaining a CELTA certificate. He then spent the next six years teaching in China before coming to Ukraine. Fredrik obtained his IHCYLT in 2011.

Galyna Usova

Galyna was born in Kharkov. She got her CELTA in 1996, a Certificate in Business English Teaching (IHBET 2008) and IHCTYL (2010).In 2009 Galyna became a Cambridge examiner (FCE, CAE) and in 2011 she successfully completed a course in Advanced Methodology (CAM).
