About the Programme

Through English language and related life skills development, our Empowerment global programme builds resilience and provides agency and voice for young people who may have been displaced, affected by conflict, and/or are from disadvantaged backgrounds or isolated communities. Empowerment is seen as a spectrum, and while language skills alone can’t overcome structural obstacles, they are vital for advocating for rights and change by marginalised communities.

Explore New Horizons, Aspire and Navigate Changes through English (ENHANCE) programme is designed specifically to encourage young Ukrainians to use English and other life skills to communicate with each other and the outside world and build resilience, confidence and hope through creative project activities. 

The grants are open to individuals or organisations to deliver creative educational and innovative project that use English as a life skill and a tool for engaging activities. These projects should aim to empower the most vulnerable groups and communities in Ukraine.

Applications are open for submission from June 25 to July 26, 2026, at 18:00 Kyiv time.

  • Launch of call for proposals: 25 June 2026
  • Clarification emails submitted by 01 July 2026, answered by 05 July 2026
  • Proposal submission deadline: 26 July 2026, by 18:00
  • Selection is done by 10 August 2026 
  • Selection: successful applicants will be notified by 15 August 2026
  • Final agreements signed by 01 September 2026
  • Projects to be completed by end of March 2027
  • Final impact reports to be submitted by end of April 2027

  • Applications must be submitted in Ukrainian or English.
  • Applicants must submit a clear project proposal outlining objectives and activities to achieve the expected outcomes. 
  • Proposals should demonstrate how the project will use English and creative activities to support the empowerment and life skills development of young people.
  • Applicants must include information on their experience working with young Ukrainians and their ability to deliver the proposed activities.
  • Applications must include a basic implementation plan and budget.
  • All applications must demonstrate how equality, diversity, and inclusion principles will be integrated into the project design and delivery.
