Teacher Activity Groups (TAGs) are places where teachers are able to take responsibility for the learning they need, connecting it directly to the issues they face in the classroom.

TAGs focus on teachers helping each other practice their English skills, sharing new teaching ideas and techniques.

The role of the TAG facilitators is to enable focused discussion, sharing of experience and collaborative learning.

The British Council initiative of Teacher Activity Groups (TAGs) has been supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

About 100 English teachers who work in grades 5 - 9 have set up TAGs in 100 schools. They have built communities of practice through ongoing professional development activities, e.g. focused discussion, sharing of experience and collaborative learning.

The Virtual Teacher Activity Groups Platform (vTAG) has been developed by the British Council to create opportunities for communication among teachers from different countries of the world. It provides opportunities for teachers to share their experiences and gives access to courses and webinars delivered by famous educational experts. This platform is already available to teachers-TAG facilitators.
