Youth Connect for Ukraine has completed another round of selection and training for facilitators, strengthening a network of specialists working with young people across different regions of Ukraine.

The programme received 99 applications. Behind every application is strong motivation, substantial experience and a sincere desire to support young people and help them develop leadership, cooperation and social engagement.

We are sincerely grateful to everyone who expressed interest in the programme and shared their story. For us, this is a great value and an important confirmation of how essential opportunities for learning, support and development remain for those working with young people.

Selection results

Following the competitive selection process, 17 participants joined the Youth Connect for Ukraine community as newly certified programme facilitators.

Four-day training programme

The training lasted four days and focused on the programme methodology and practical facilitation skills. In particular, it covered:

  • psychological aspects of working with young people;
  • creating a safe learning environment and supporting groups;
  • facilitation tools for working with group dynamics;
  • responding to challenges and participants’ needs and requests.

The programme combined learning modules, practical exercises and reflection sessions to support consistent standards for delivering activities in different locations.

Next steps

The newly certified facilitators will take part in delivering Youth Connect for Ukraine activities in communities across Ukraine, supporting the development of young people’s leadership skills, effective collaboration and civic participation.

The British Council in Ukraine thanks everyone for their involvement, courage, openness and willingness to take on this role. Special thanks go to the NGO City of Active Citizens for its partnership and for delivering the event to a high standard.
