Ideathon “Sustainable Solutions”: A Space for Youth-Led Initiatives
Ideathon “Sustainable Solutions” is a platform where youth ideas are shaped into clear project concepts with the potential to deliver long-term change in local communities.
Team selection
An open call received 36 applications. We invited 19 teams to online interviews. Following the selection process, eight teams joined the in-person Ideathon and gained the opportunity to compete for project funding and mentoring support.
How the programme was structured
Online stage
Participants refined the core challenge behind their ideas and carried out research that later informed their project development.
In-person stage
The focus was on strengthening both the projects and the teams. The programme covered:
- analysing community challenges and exploring solutions
- building a realistic implementation plan
- teamwork and partnerships
- defining expected impact and integrating sustainability approaches
- communications strategy, performance indicators and budgeting
- final project presentations
What the ideas focused on
Team proposals covered a wide range of themes, including mental health, social support, legal awareness, environmental issues and cultural heritage. Ideas included creating safe youth spaces, programmes to strengthen critical thinking, psychological recovery through creativity and nature, practical training on safety and health, sex education and debates on European institutions. Across all projects, teams prioritised responsibility, cohesion and responding to real community needs.
What happens next
Teams will continue refining their initiatives and preparing to implement their planned solutions in their communities.
Many thanks to our partners and to all participants for the collaborative work, trust and energy that is helping move these ideas forward.
