Creative Economy Development Grants – Grant Programme
We provide grants of up to £10,000 for the development of creative hubs and professional associations.
The British Council supports creative hubs and professional associations, which are key drivers of Ukraine’s creative economy. These two types of organisations can receive grants of up to £10,000 for their institutional development. As part of the 2026-2027 grant programme, we will support up to five projects.
To better understand the opportunities this programme can offer, imagine that the grant could help you: research your hub’s audience and understand how it has changed during the war; introduce a new service for veterans within your creative community; or improve your website to make it easier to use for creative entrepreneurs with visual impairments.
The grant programme supports activities that help organisations in the creative industries better understand the needs of their communities, sectors or regions and develop practical solutions in response. This may include research into a sector, audience or organisational needs; analysis of the environment, resources and gaps; development of approaches for the future growth of an organisation or sector; workshops, consultations, knowledge exchange or other formats that improve interaction between creative industry actors.
These activities should lead to a clear, realistic idea that can be tested in practice and benefit the wider ecosystem.
This grant programme is intended specifically for organisations working to strengthen Ukraine’s creative economy. If this applies to your organisation, it should fall into one of the following categories:
Creative hub:
- Provides space and support for interaction, business development, and networking of individual creatives, companies, and communities in the cultural and creative industries;
- Creates cultural and creative value for its local ecosystem and for the wider creative economy;
- Functions as either an offline or online organisation.
Professional association:
- Brings together artists, professionals, and companies working within a particular sector of the cultural and creative industries (e.g. design, film, music, advertising, architecture, publishing);
- Supports the sector by representing and protecting its interests, fostering professional growth, developing standards, creating educational opportunities, providing legal support, strengthening collaboration, promoting the sector, and attracting funding and partnerships.
